This film could actually also explain The Company Weyland-Yutani's relentless pursuit of acquiring the various versions of the Aliens for their bio-weapons division. Using a version of Corporate Business Employee Logic, the company created David, who works as an employee for the very same company. David technically created the (other) various versions of the Aliens seen in most of the in-universe story arc, while a Weyland-Yutani employee, so Weyland-Yutani could claim the "Intellectual Property" Rights to David's creations as Corporate Assets, and exploit them as bio-weapons, which explains the corporate mindset in the next few films Alien (1979), Aliens (1986), etc.
