Unlike most TV series, this show had new footage specifically shot for the opening credits of each episode, usually of Burke and his chauffeur heading to the crime scene: it was a very expensive process. Stock footage was always used for Burke's driving to the police station (note the same two motorcycle officers exiting the parking lot).
