Thanos appears only briefly, but if you look at him, his chin is quite unique. The comparison to the Skrulls is very possible, that Thanos may be the progenitor of the Skrull Race. In the comics, he is from the Titan moon of Saturn, whose fellow Titans have been gods all across the universe, creating races all over.
