During the third season, Gary Carr appears on the show as a fictionalized version of "himself" and as a love interest for Lucca (Cush Jumbo). Although some things stated on the show about "Gary Carr" are factual (for example, other characters recognize him from "Downton Abbey" and "The Deuce," two TV shows that Carr really did appear on), other details are fictional (for example, Carr is not really a Scientologist). Carr shares most of his scenes with Jumbo. During his first appearance, Carr pretends to have an American accent but then drops it to speak in his real British accent; Cush Jumbo is also British but pretends to have an American accent to play Lucca.
