As we see Giselle progress into a modern woman, so does her wardrobe. She begins in the over-the-top wedding gown, then to the very Princessy long gown, then to a very girly, but short dress, and finally, into a modern evening gown. In the same way, Robert's wardrobe regresses from suit and tie to more casual clothing, and ending in a very Prince-like outfit at the ball.
