Lone Starr turned down the one million spacebucks reward for returning Vespa and instead wanted only 248 spacebucks for lunch, gas and tolls. This came from Accadde una notte (1934), where Peter Warne turned down the $10,000 reward offered by Ellie Andrews's father and instead claimed only $39.60 for items he had to sell in order to buy gasoline for their trip back to New York. And similar to Spaceballs, as they were walking down the aisle Ellie's father told her that Peter had turned down the reward, she then ran away from her wedding and married Peter.
