This is the fourth pirate movie Hans Zimmer has scored. Although Klaus Badelt is credited for scoring La maledizione della prima luna (2003), Zimmer personally composed several themes for the movie while also producing the rest of the score. In addition to the three Pirates of the Caribbean films, he also scored I Muppet nell'isola del tesoro (1996).
