Anne Meara who starred as Ms. Sherwood in Fame was also starring as Veronica on the hit show Archie Bunker's Place; which she would appear on until 1983 when it was cancelled. This would explain why she was not picked up to play Ms. Sherwood in the TV show; Carol Mayo Jenkins was. Fame the tv show started production in 1982; and Ms Meara was already under contract with CBS to star in Archie Bunker's Place at the time.
