The blonde football player Jurgend is an homage to German football player Jürgen Klinsmann. This character is even wearing a small sweatband Klinsmann used to wear. Additionally, while playing for Tottenham Hotspur he was notoriously known for his theatrical way of falling after being fouled. This is exactly what Jurgend does at the end (he even speaks a bit of German in the puppet repetition.)
