It is one of the first live action films to feature male nudity, along with Il pianeta delle scimmie (1968). Cinematic depictions of Adam's fictional reversed immortal counterpart Tarzan (who was created by Edgar Rice Burroughs) and Rudyard Kipling's "Jungle Book" character Mowgli would always be wearing a loincloth. They would occasionally be seen by audiences wearing regular full male clothing.
