When Augustin finds Mirabel in the nursery, the wall paper behind her is the end of the alphabet, a butterfly, and then the alphabet starts over. When her father walks in and sees her with Bruno's vision, Mirabel's head blocks the butterfly, symbolizing that Mirabel is the end of the old ways and the beginning of a new of life for the Madrigals.
