The show ends with Goren and Eames riding together one last time after his final visit to Goren's psychiatrist. They look at each other quietly and get into the car together. This might have been an inference to something that was hinted on throughout the entire series which was that both loved each other but never publicly stated it. Their body language did give subtle clues in later seasons about how deep their relationship was. There is one line that Eames tells Captain Ross which is telling and hints very strongly about this "I don't know how well he'll function without me." Goran also displayed a fiery passion for his partner not only emotionally but also like he was protecting her. Examples of this are when Eames was abducted by his mentor's daughter and beaten frantically searching for her and disregarded him for her and when Goren gives closure to Eames' after she finds out who really killed her husband in Season 8. Eames also displayed alot more emotion for Goran during this season which was not upfront during the other seasons.
