Three of the last five storylines of Dark Shadows feature characters played by John Karlen and Nancy Barrett as love interests, the exception being both the 1995 and Summer 1970 storylines, which were back-to-back. Both the first storyline and the last storyline that featured their characters as love interests took place in Parallel Time, albeit in different years (1970 and 1841). Karlen and Barrett would play a married couple in Night of Dark Shadows (1971).
