This is the third film released in the last year (or 2 years depending on which territory you live in) to focus on the evacuation of Dunkirk. Dunkirk (2017), directed by Christopher Nolan, depicts the evacuation of Dunkirk while Joe Wright's L'ora più buia (2017) depicts the first 40 days of Winston Churchill as British Prime minister. The Dunkirk evacuation took place less than 2 months after Churchill came to power.
