Randy Jurgensen literally doubled both Robert Forster and Don Blakeley in both cars during the climactic car chase that started in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This caused a serious problem for Director William Lustig because a Screen Actors Guild appeared on the set on day and saw Jurgensen dressed as Blakeley for the scene and was outraged. Lustig was fined everyday that Jurgensen was behind the wheel of the car until he hired a real African American stunt driver which also caused a very serious problem because there were not qualified at the time of shooting to do this sort of thing and when they finally started the chase with the stunt driver, Lustig's cameraman James Lemmo was nearly killed during the chase and stunt and the second day of shooting which did not sit well with him.
