Linguini and (the ghost of) Gusteau learn that Linguini is Gusteau's son born out of wedlock. This makes this the first Disney full-length animated movie to feature a main character of "illegitimate" parentage: all prior main characters were either orphaned, had both parents married and living, or had one living widowed parent.
