The first time we actually get a good look at the Wendigo creature is when it attacks one of Lucas' bullies in the forest. Director Scott Cooper credited Shane Mahan and Legacy Effects for achieving the effect, even though some of the creature effects were digitally augmented. Cooper says, "The majority was [Legacy's] work and then we just augmented it a little bit with CGI."
