Bruce Dallas Howard explained why she's "absolutely" happy to go to work with these monsters for a third time. "The premise of the first Jurassic World [was] that dinosaurs were just around and kids were kind of bored with them. It was a bit of a comment on the Jurassic franchise overall. Can we continue to entertain when it is still this almost lightning strikes thing where it's like, 'Oh, and the dinosaurs attack again!?' "For me, what's so exciting about being part of these movies is getting to see Colin [Trevorrow's] vision for what the next story is going to entail, and it's always surprised me," she said. "The thing about the dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Dominion is that they're not hybrid dinosaurs. We saw two iterations of that, that chapter has closed for now." The Ahsoka director went on to tease: "What we're seeing are dinosaurs being reanimated that we've never seen before in the Jurassic series, but as true as possible to the actual dinosaur that walked this Earth. It's very exciting and I'm never bored." One such terror is the Giganotosaurus, which Trevorrow himself previously suggested mimics the nature of Batman's arch nemesis, The Joker. "It just wants to watch the world burn," he shared.
