In 1978 when Diffrent Strokes was on the air Conrad Bain's twin brother, Bonar Bain, appeared on an episode of SCTV. In the episode John Candy plays Zoltar, an alien puppet master who controls Bain, called Hank in this episode. Hank is an alien doppelganger Podperson; an evil twin who plans to take over his twin's role on Diffrent Strokes; ala Invasion of the Body Snatchers. He plans to use his brother's celebrity status to take over the world with Zoltar's help. This is one of the few times Bonar Bain appeared in public over the years; the only other time was on Maude; he played Arthur's crazy twin brother in the Vivian's Surprise episode. Amazingly, Phillip Drummond does have a twin on the show; his cousin Anna Von Drummond; but Bonar does not play the twin in the episode; Conrad plays both parts!
