After Mr Romeo flopped, one of Shashi Kapoor's producer's removed him from a film.The role was then offered to Amitabh who just had a hit with Majboor. Shashi told Amitabh to go ahead, but Amitabh declined the role due to his close friendship with Shashi. It was Shashi who stopped Amitabh from playing a extra in Bombay Talkies. Amitabh never forgot this and always would help Shashi when ever he needed any help.
