In season one, when Tony is promoted from captain to major, he appears to be wearing the wrong rank. He has silver oak leaves, which are for a Lieutenant Colonel. This is probably due to a colorization error while colorizing the original black-and-white episodes. In season two, which was filmed in color, the oak leaves were gold for a Major.
