The later life of Henry Hill, after he enters the Witness Protection Program, was also adapted, more humorously, into Il testimone più pazzo del mondo (1990) the same year. Appropriately, that film was written by Nora Ephron, who was Nicholas Pileggi's wife. Ephron reportedly witnessed so many phone conversations that Pileggi had with Hill for his book 'Wiseguy' (which he would later adapt into a screenplay) that it inspired her to write a screenplay of her own. Although Hill loved Quei bravi ragazzi (1990), he allegedly wasn't happy with Il testimone più pazzo del mondo (1990).
