Reportedly Satee Shourie had already sold the rights of the film Farishtay to a Bombay distributor, without paying off her earlier debtors. The said distributor had distributed her earlier film Sheesha Satee Shourie first production in certain territories, had made a contract with her that if the film did not recover the money she'd pay for his losses. The film didn't recover the money but Shourie has yet to pay up not just a distributor. Shes has even to pay Basu Chatterjee the director of Sheesha an actor Vijendra one of the actors in the film,their remaining money. Satee Shourie responded "As if this is all true. Why would I have to pay a distributor. Does a producer ever pay a distributor he owed me money. What money do I owe Basu Chatterjee? That director is a nice man I asked him to make a film in a mere 20 lakhs and he agreed. Of course the 20 lakhs deal held true if only he could get Rekha. That was who i wanted in Sheesha. He couldn't her and instead got Moon Moon Sen. So I paid him a lesser amount he had to pay Vijendra and all the other technicians.
