This movie was based on the story sent by Merilyn Acierda for the TV series, Lo ricorderai (1991). Acierda filed a case before the trial court after learning that her contributed piece was made into movie without giving any credit to her. Producers agreed for an out-of-court settlement in which Acierda received P50,000 (around 1,000 US dollars at that time) and a contract with ABS-CBN to contribute to its TV series.
