Margot Robbie had a say in what tattoos her character had in this film and Birds of Prey e la fantasmagorica rinascita di Harley Quinn (2020). The tattoo of a dolphin jumping over a rainbow was important to her because she felt Harley (at the time Dr. Harleen Quinzel) would have seen a tattoo as being super rebellious, but didn't want to be too edgy (at the time).
