Virgil Hawkins' first job was at a fast food restaurant called Burger Fool, which had a jester character as their company mascot. This restaurant is a spoof of real-life fast food restaurants Burger King and McDonalds, the latter with their clown mascot Ronald McDonald. Burger Fool restaurants and billboards made numerous appearances throughout the TV series.
