Kevin Kline plays the handsome love interest in this film, rivaling the hunchbacked Quasimodo for Esmeralda. In "Cyrano de Bergerac" (2008), he plays a man embarrassed by his huge nose and ugly face - so embarrassed, he is afraid to express his feelings to the woman he loves, and instead helps his handsome rival in wooing her.
