MGM would later produce a live action anthology series which aired on ABC in during the 1967-1968 tv season called "Off To See The Wizard.'. The show featured "Off To See The Wizard" as it's theme song; and featured an animated opening and animated wrap around segments showing Dorothy and friends trotting down the iconic Yellow Brick Road; just as in the movie and book. Although the featured stories on the show were all live action, and had nothing to do with Oz, but we're just adventure oriented; including a failed pilot for William Shatner about Alexander the Great. It has been described as "another Banana Splits type show" by the critics; since it has a similar format to that more famous Hannah Barbera children's anthology program.
