In this film, Poison Ivy manipulates an angry and grieving Mr. Freeze to go along with her plan. She wants the two of them to achieve the annihilation of humanity, leaving them as the last two living humans on planet Earth. She then wants to start repopulating the world. In real-life genetics, there is the concept of the "minimum viable population" for a species to endure. Populations "with fewer than 50 individuals" are considered moribund.
