In the opening scene of Sally Moffet's coming-out party, the camera pans down through several floors showcasing stunning woodwork and a beautiful oak staircase. Only part of the substantial woodwork found throughout Craigdarroch Castle, the 25, 0000 sq.ft. home of the Dunsmuir family was built in the late 1880's-1890's. Containing 39 rooms over four floors, it is estimated to have cost $500,000 at the time (over $12.5 million today). The woodwork alone cost around $40,000.
