Just as her namesake does in the original Halloween - La notte delle streghe (1978), Lindsey watches La 'cosa' da un altro mondo (1951), a loose adaptation of John W. Campbell's "Who Goes There?" John Carpenter, the writer/producer/director of the original "Halloween" not only "remade" "The Thing From Another World" (following the original Campbell story much more closely) as La cosa (1982), but also provided a commentary track for the 1951 film on a special edition DVD release. (Carpenter, a self-described Howard Hawks fanatic, also recorded a DVD commentary track for another Hawks film, Un dollaro di onore (1959).)
