The Weirding Modules (Sound Guns) were not original concepts and were based on real-life sonic weapons whose sound is used to injure, incapacitate, or kill an opponent. Some of these weapons have been in limited use by the military and the police and are described as sonic bullets, sonic grenades, sonic mines or sonic cannons: they make a focused beam of sound or ultrasound and some make an area field of sound.
