It is said that one principle, the director of the film Luis Llosa wanted the composer John Barry with whom he had worked before in the film "The Specialist" in 1994, to make the music for the film, But Barry did not because at that time he became seriously ill and could not participate. Instead he was replaced by Randy Edelman and at the request of director Luis Llosa asked that the music keep the same style as John Barry and that the music had similarities to the themes of "The White Buffalo" of 1977 and "King Kong" of 1976, Films in which John Barry worked composing the themes. And thanks to Luis Llosa's request for the theme composed by Randy Edelman and released by Edel Records becoming the theme we know today.
