To prepare his stars for their roles, Stanley Kubrick had joined psychoanalysis sessions with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman where he had them confess their fears about relations and their real-life marriage. According to Kidman, it was brutally honest, and blurred the line between themselves and their fictional characters. Both of them have vowed to never reveal what they discussed during these sessions.
