Il racket dei sequestri (1977) was the first ever cinema thriller movie directed by British director Michael Apted. Apted would later go on to direct several other thrillers such as Enigma (2001), Via dall'incubo (2002), Occhi nelle tenebre (1993), Cuore di tuono (1992), Gorky Park (1983), Conflitto di classe (1991), Extreme Measures - Soluzioni estreme (1996) and Il mondo non basta (1999).
