Although he did not like the script and saw only a few minutes of the finished film, Alec Guinness often spoke of how much he had enjoyed making this movie. He spoke highly of both Sophia Lorenand director [ Anthony Mann]. James Mason and Anthony Quayle also praised Mann's sensitivity and skill.
