Maureen Flanagan, who grew up with the brothers and knew them intimately, gave several interviews where she praised the film. The single inaccuracy, she said, was Reggie physically assaulting Frances. Chris Lambrianou and Freddie Foreman, who also knew them well, agreed that it completely fabricated. In actuality, the brothers were well-known to respect women immensely, were protective of them, and had a moral code that they'd never hurt them. This was something unusual about them amongst their fellow gangsters. As the assault is a major plot point, viewers should take into account that according the multiple real life sources this would never happen, and in fact went completely against who Reggie was.
