Dale Cooper's secretary, Diane, to whom he records many tapes throughout the series, never appears onscreen. She came close to appearing in Fuoco cammina con me (1992) when Cooper is seen to be talking to her in person at the FBI office, but she is in another room and cannot be seen. Diane finally makes a physical appearance in the follow-up series Twin Peaks: il ritorno (2017), played by Laura Dern.
