Prior to this series, Superman had unofficially appeared in the DCAU already with appearances in 1993's "Superman & Batman Magazine" which presumed the animated world's handling of various DC comics characters, years before their inclusion on any proper DCAU project. Superman also appeared in the Batman (1992) tie in comic book, "The Batman Adventures" in issue #25 and a couple of children's golden books all while sporting longer mullet hair he had in regular mainstream DC comics at the time. These appearances are not officially cannon as the contradict what eventually was shown on screen in the DCAU continuity.
