During the scene where Harry and Sara (Jared Leto and Ellen Burstyn) are arguing, you can hear an orchestra tuning up. "The idea was that it's an orchestra tuning up, because what we were about to see was a requiem." Darren Aronofsky states that the main focus with the film was in creating a musical composition, one that climaxes throughout the film's run-time.
