Each one of the "Sequel Trilogy" films features one of the "classic three" characters' deaths. Han Solo died in The Force Awakens, Luke Skywalker died in The Last Jedi, and Leia dies in The Rise of Skywalker. Interestingly, the three characters die in the opposite of the order they were introduced in A New Hope - Leia was introduced first in that film and dies last, Luke was introduced in the middle and dies in the middle, and Han was introduced last and dies first.
