When it seemed that Super Friends ran its course in 1980, Hanna-Barbera sought development of a separate brand using DC Comics characters. The project that came closest to being made was Teen Titans in 1983. With Robin viewed as a Super Friends character, he was dropped in favor of an original creation called the Protector. With production art and character designs produced, comic writer Marv Wolfman helped develop Teen Titans with Cyborg, Raven, Kid Flash, Changeling, and Starfire lead by Wonder Girl along with the Protector. While the series never came about, the designs were used for an anti-drug PSA.
