Both Chad and Mindy survive their respective act three Ghostface injuries echoing Dewey and Randy's survival from Ghostface from the original Scream. The way Chad is shown in the ambulance is similar to the way Dewey got loaded into the ambulance at the end of the original, while Mindy is stabbed in the upper-right of her body, which is the same spot her uncle Randy is shot in by Billy Loomis.
