Jeff Perry (Cyrus Beene in Scandal) portrayed the father of one of the other National Spelling Bee participants in season nine, episode eighteen, "War of the Words". Bellamy Young (Mellie Grant in Scandal (2012)) was featured in season nine, episode seventeen, "Three Blind Dates" (just prior to "War of the Words") as the owner of a book store and prospective love interest for Frasier. Tony Goldwyn (Fitzgerald Grant in Scandal (2012)) portrayed a (garbage man) love interest for Roz in season nine, episode five, "Love Stinks".
