This script was taken from the Kingston translation that was widely published in the United States, and England, and changes Cyrus "Smith" to "Harding". Original translation was translated by Sidney Kravitz and was published in unabridged with notes in 2001. In the book, Pencroff (not Pencroft) is a Sailor with Union sympathies, not a Confederate Sargent. Neb is a freed slave of his master who was Cyrus Harding, but because of the generosity of Harding throughout Nebs life, Neb elected to stay with Harding even when Harding was moving around the south fighting Confederates. Harbert was not in the military, but was a lad of fifteen years old, and was very knowledgeable in plant life. There is no women survivors of a shipwreck. All four men (and the teenage boy) work together to survive. Parts of the book are a sequel to "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" and "Captain Grant's Children", the latter which was adapted into I figli del capitano Grant (1962).
