The role of Isabella Vanger in both versions is played by an actress who had worked with Ingmar Bergman in his classic films. Gunnel Lindblom played Isabella in the Uomini che odiano le donne (2009) while Inga Landgré played the same role in this version. Both actresses appeared in Il settimo sigillo (1957) directed by Bergman.
