The Otis character is loosely based on Chippendales first black dancer Hodari Sababu. Like Otis on the series Sababu was excluded from the Chippendales calendar and quit after getting into a fight with Steve Banerjee when he tried to make his own calendar. Though unlike the Oties character who shook Banerjee's hand and left Sababu punched Banerjee over a financial dispute. Sababu started his own male revue show featuring black dancers called Lady Killers.
