In the scene where Willy reconciles with his dad, Wilbur, after not seeing him since he was a kid, Charlie goes over to the wall and sees that Wilbur has Wonka candy wrappers and newspaper clippings highlighting his son's career. This was based on when director Tim Burton visited his mom, who had a similar falling out with him, and saw she had movie posters and movie tickets highlighting her son's film career.
