Zack Snyder is reportedly a huge fan of this series and "noticed" Joe Manganiello as a possible Superman even before signing on for L'uomo d'acciaio (2013). Manganiello was about to make a screentest with a Superman suit when HBO stepped in and prohibited him from any auditions due to contractual obligations with this series.
