The tenth computer animated film to become a franchise after Toy Story - Il mondo dei giocattoli (1995), Shrek (2001), L'era glaciale (2002), Madagascar (2005), Cappuccetto rosso e gli insoliti sospetti (2005), Kung Fu Panda (2008), Cars - Motori ruggenti (2006), Happy Feet (2006), and Cattivissimo me (2010). This does not count Monsters & Co. (2001) which only had a prequel as a follow-up film rather than a sequel, same said for other computer-animated films whose sequels were simply released in direct-to-videos, and those that has gotten a spin-off.
